WestGroupe shares their tips and ideas on how to help plan a terrific event (ie: Trunk Show):
1. What to Show
What you show has an impact on your marketing and planning. Choose to showcase current trends in a variety of colors, shapes and styles that will appeal to every demographic.
2. When to Show / Planning
Timing is everything. Talk to your venue and participants to ensure you schedule your event at a time that works well for everyone. Consider the time of day and weekdays versus weekends, since you’ll have different traffic accordingly. Give yourself at least two months to plan an event.
Themes are a great tool for marketing and sparking creativity. Have fun with your theme and choose something memorable. Seasonal and fashion trends are only a few examples of themes that can be used.
4. Location, Location, Location
Where you hold your event can make or break it. Consider hosting your event at your local retailer – Don’t be shy to decorate! Looking for something different? Galleries, restaurants, coffee houses or even private homes make great venues. Ideally, you should find a place with easy parking or public transportation. Choose a friendly atmosphere with sufficient room, where your guest are able to interact with your product.
This is a great time to use your social media channels. Facebook, Twitter and blogs can be quite effective. Looking for a more traditional route? Consider advertising in local papers or even the tried and true direct mail, at least 1 to 2 weeks prior to your event.
A refreshment table is a nice touch and the perfect place for promotional items.
7. Get Feedback
What worked? What didn’t? While you’re thanking your guests, don’t forget to ask them for some feedback.
